RWD-8 (PWS) 1:72 from IBG Models is a plastic kit of the Polish high-wing trainer in the version operated in Hungarian and Romanian service.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded plastic kit depicts the Polish RWD-8 high-wing training and liaison monoplane from the licensed production of the PWS works, in the form used in Hungarian and Romanian service. The package contains parts on two sprues, a clear cockpit part and decals. The finished model is about 111 mm long. The kit will please those interested in interwar and wartime aircraft of less usual operators.
The RWD-8 was designed by the Polish RWD team in 1931 as a military trainer, and it was built in large numbers by the nationalized PWS works. In all, over five hundred examples of this simple high-wing monoplane were made. After the campaign of 1939 a number of aircraft withdrew to Romania, where the local air force seized them, and two aircraft ended up the same way in Hungary. It is exactly these foreign operators that this version of the kit is devoted to.
Separate and clean up the small parts carefully, and paint the cockpit before closing up the fuselage. Glue the plastic with a thin modeling cement and the clear part with super glue or canopy glue. The fuselage and wings were fabric covered, so flat shades suit them. Before applying the decals, give the surfaces a coat of gloss varnish and flatten them at the end.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
