A photo-etched parts set in 1:72 scale for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.I fighter, listed for the IBG kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Spitfire Mk.I was the first production version of the British fighter that became one of the best-known aircraft of the Second World War. Its distinguishing mark is the thin wing of elliptical planform, on which the whole shape of the aircraft rests, and the eight 7.7 mm machine guns spread along its leading edge. It was the Mk.I that bore the main weight of the defensive battles over Britain in 1940, which makes it a rewarding subject even for a collection in a smaller scale.
Photo-etched parts from thin metal sheet, listed for the IBG kit in 1:72 scale. Metal allows what injection-molded plastic does not: flat elements can have a thickness matching the real thing, so no thickening shows at the edge of a part. The list of parts and their placement on the model are given in the enclosed instructions.
The parts are small, so work over a tray with a raised rim and use tweezers with fine points. Separate them with a sharp blade on a hard surface, never by snapping them out. Make the bends in a bending tool or over a metal edge; in this scale every inaccuracy shows. Apply cyanoacrylate with a pin, as an excess would flood a small part and leave a matte film. Degrease and prime the metal before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold. Fit the interior elements before you close the fuselage.
The photo-etched parts alone are supplied. The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
