Special Hobby 1:72 Wehrmacht Bicycle is a small set of German army bicycles for completing scenes in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small item with a big effect. The bicycle was an absolutely ordinary means of transport in the German army, and yet it appears on the modeling bench only rarely, because in a small scale it is a difficult casting. This set from Special Hobby fills exactly that gap and suits anywhere a scene is meant to look lived in.
Infantry units, messengers and rear-area formations used the bicycle for quick movement over short distances throughout the war. It was quiet, needed no fuel and could get through where a vehicle could not. In period photographs the bicycles therefore stand leaning against the walls of houses, lie beside trenches, or soldiers push them along beside them on field tracks.
Work over a surface with a raised rim, so that the small components do not escape. Separate them only just before fitting and move them with tweezers. The frame will take a dark, almost black shade with a hint of highlight; lighten the mudguards and the handlebars slightly. The saddle gets a brown tone, the rims a fine metallic tinge. Dusting the lower parts will join the set with the rest of a scene.
The set is supplied in a raw state without a finish; paints and adhesives are not enclosed, unless stated otherwise.
