A resin detail set from Quickboost in 1:72 scale. It holds precisely cast exhaust stacks for models of the Yak-1B. The resin form offers hollowed mouths and sharp edges of the kind that are difficult to cast in plastic. The model itself is not part of it.
The Yak-1B was a Soviet single-seat fighter of the Second World War with a Klimov M-105 V12 engine. The exhaust stacks are clearly visible on the sides of the engine, and refining them is one of the quick but striking improvements to a model.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and sand with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The exhausts come out well with a combination of dark metal, rust and light heat staining toward the mouth.
The set holds resin parts only. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
