This item is not a kit of a vehicle or an aircraft but a stand-alone resin figure meant to be assembled and painted by hand. The 90 mm size is one of the larger figure formats. It is there that advanced painting techniques pay off most, because the area of the face, the clothing and the gear is large enough for fine transitions, cloth texture and worked-up shading. The number of parts, the height of the finished piece and the contents of the package, including a base if there is one, are stated on the box.
At 90 mm nothing can be hidden: every imperfectly sanded parting seam, every remnant of a casting block and every unevenly applied primer shows once the paint is on. On the other hand, the large format forgives a shaking hand on detail and makes it possible to work with so-called volumetric painting, where the form is built with light and shadow rather than by drawing lines. Figures of this size are often completed with a base of your own, which becomes part of the final composition.
Before building, wash the castings in lukewarm water with a drop of dish soap and let them dry out thoroughly, because remains of mold release agent are the most common cause of paint peeling off. Cut the casting remnants away with a fine saw and do not break them. Do the sanding with respiratory protection, or wet, so that no dust is raised. Join the parts with super glue; fill larger gaps with modeling putty or a two-part compound and sand them back again. Then put a thin primer on, from a spray can or with an airbrush. On skin and textiles in this format oil paints are traditionally used for smooth transitions, while acrylics serve well on sharp detail, gear and metal parts.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
