An injection-molded plastic kit of the British infantry tank Churchill Mk.VI with the QF 75 mm Mk.V gun, in 1:35 scale from AFV Club. The model captures the characteristic long, angular hull with the tracks running right over the top, and the reworked turret. A well-worked gun breech, photo-etched parts, clear parts and a decal sheet are included. The barrel can be elevated and depressed after assembly.
The Churchill was a British infantry tank that relied on very heavy armor and on the ability to cross difficult ground, even at the cost of a lower speed. The Mk.VI version was one of the later builds and carried a general-purpose 75 mm gun, which improved its firepower against infantry and lighter armored vehicles compared with the earlier versions. Thanks to their massive structure and good cross-country mobility, Churchills proved themselves in demanding conditions and in specialized engineer conversions.
The most demanding part is the running gear that runs the whole length of the hull — assemble and paint it before you finish the superstructure. Bond the parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched parts with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer and spray British dark olive (SCC) with an airbrush; the patina comes from a wash in the recesses, an edge highlight and dust and mud pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
