An accessory set in 1:48 scale for refining the cockpit of the Italian fighter Macchi C.202 Folgore.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Macchi C.202 Folgore was an Italian fighter of the Second World War. It came about by combining the proven airframe of the preceding type with a liquid-cooled inverted V12 derived from the German Daimler-Benz DB 601. The slim nose of the aircraft did a great deal for its speed and rate of climb, and the Folgore became the most successful Italian fighter of its day. The narrow cockpit shows well on a model, because the canopy is usually built slid back.
The set brings refined cockpit equipment for a model in 1:48 scale. It replaces the simplified parts of the base kit with shapes that have sharper edges and finer surface detail. The aircraft model is not included in the package.
The material is not polystyrene, so cement for plastic will not hold. Use super glue, or a two-component adhesive. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the rest down. Before painting, wash the parts in warm water with detergent and degrease them, otherwise the paint will start to peel. Assemble and paint the cockpit before you glue the fuselage together, and keep dry-fitting to check that the fuselage halves close. A lighter dry brush and a darker glaze will pull out detail that would otherwise be lost in the depth of the cockpit. The exact fitting procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The set is intended for modelers for whom the cockpit equipment from the kit is not enough and who want to finish it in detail. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise. Check the compatibility with your particular kit against the manufacturer's information.
