Two turned barrels for the MG 131 machine gun in 1:48 scale from Aber, the late form. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of two turned metal barrels in 1:48 scale for the German aircraft machine gun of thirteen millimeters caliber designated MG 131, in the late form. This is not a kit but a replacement for plastic parts on a model of an aircraft. The protruding ends of the barrels are small, in plastic they come out thick and they break during handling, whereas metal holds its shape and the muzzle stays open.
The MG 131 was a German aircraft machine gun of thirteen millimeters caliber, developed as a replacement for the weaker weapons of 7.92 mm caliber. It was compact and light, so it fitted even into the tight space above the engine, where it fired through the arc of the propeller. German fighters and bombers of the second half of the war carried it, and on fighters its installation showed in the characteristic bulges on the engine cowling.
Degrease the metal barrels with alcohol and apply primer, otherwise the paint will not hold on the smooth surface. Cut the plastic parts off and drill the hole exactly to the diameter of the pin, so that the barrel does not wobble. Dose the glue with the tip of a wire, not straight from the bottle, because on small parts any excess overflows at once. Fit the barrels at the very end, after the decals have been applied and after the top coat, otherwise you will bend them during handling.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
