This set from Quinta Studio is a specialized color 3D decal on decal paper that captures the quilted padded lining of the cockpit of the attack helicopter. Instead of the whole instrument fit, it deals with the characteristic soft lining of the cockpit walls, with the raised relief of the quilting. It is intended for models of the Ka-52 and the Ka-52M in 1:72 scale.
The elements of the quilted lining are applied like waterslide decals: the piece is dipped in water and slid onto the relevant surfaces of the cockpit. The relief printing imitates the soft padding and its quilting, giving the interior a faithful, three-dimensional look without any painting by hand.
Degrease the surface and keep it smooth, position the decal on a damp surface and press it down gently with a soft brush, so that it follows the shape of the wall. Do not use a decal softener or a setting solution, as they attack the printed resin and ruin the element. Any edges can be unified once dry with a thin coat of matte varnish.
This is a modeling accessory, not a kit on its own. The plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
