A set of sixteen turned barrels for the 3.7 cm SK C/30 gun in 1:200 scale from the manufacturer Aber. It is not a ship model but a replacement for the plastic barrels on models of German warships.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a set of add-on parts, not a ship model. The package holds sixteen turned barrels of the 3.7 cm anti-aircraft gun designated SK C/30 with a barrel length of 83 calibers. They are fitted on a model in place of the plastic barrels, which tend to be thicker, carry a mold parting line and lose their circular section once sanded. A turned part, by contrast, is accurate along its whole length, and on a finished model the difference shows at first glance, because the light anti-aircraft armament is the most conspicuous small detail on deck.
The 3.7 cm SK C/30 gun was the standard anti-aircraft weapon of the Kriegsmarine in the 1930s. Unlike the later automatic weapons it fired single rounds and was loaded round by round, which limited the rate of fire, but it had a stabilized mounting. Practically every larger German warship carried it, from destroyers to battleships.
The set is for ship modelers who are finishing the detail of the armament at a large scale. Working with small metal parts calls for tweezers, patience and a steady hand. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
