An injection-molded plastic kit of the Soviet biplane I-153 in 1:72 scale from ICM. The model captures the real subject faithfully with a detailed cockpit interior and landing gear; in the boxing you will find plastic parts, clear parts for the glazing and a decal sheet with several marking options. Bombs and unguided RS-82 rockets are included among the armament.
The I-153 Chaika (seagull) was a Soviet biplane fighter of the late 1930s with a gull-shaped upper wing, retractable landing gear and armament of four ShKAS machine guns. It was built from 1939 to 1941 and lasted in combat until 1943. Together with the I-16 monoplane it formed the basis of the Soviet fighter force at the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.
In the small 1:72 scale the parts are tiny, so glue with liquid cement and work with a sharp knife and tweezers. The interplane struts call for patience; rigging with fine thread will add realism to a biplane. Apply a primer before painting and spray the shades with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
