Airbrush WOODEN DECK MASK for 1/700 USS MISSOURI BB63 (For Tamiya 31613)

Js Work Wooden Deck Mask 1:700 USS Missouri BB-63 (1:700 scale)

This is a self-adhesive masking film (a mask) for the airbrush, intended for painting the wooden deck of the battleship USS Missouri BB-63 in 1:700 scale. It is not a kit and not a decal — it is a precisely cut template that you stick onto the deck of the model and spray paint over, so that the structure and the division of the planks stand out. The mask saves time and replaces the slow business of masking off the deck by hand. The shape of the templates matches the Tamiya 31613 kit.

The real subject

USS Missouri (BB-63) is an American battleship of the Iowa class, famous for the Japanese surrender that ended the Second World War being signed on her deck in 1945. The expansive wooden decks are characteristic of ships of this class, and rendering them faithfully lifts the look of the model considerably.

Use

• First paint the deck in the base wood color and let it dry.
• Seat the film precisely on the deck to match the shape of the part and press it down.
• Spray a darker shade over the mask to bring out the seams and the texture.
• Remove the mask carefully before the paint hardens completely.

Who it is for

• Ship builders in 1:700 scale who want a realistic deck
• Modelers who prefer an airbrush to masking by hand
• Anyone after a faithful model of an Iowa class battleship

This is an accessory for a ship model, not a kit. Paints, glue and the model are not included in the package.
