Eleven tenths of a millimeter across the flats. The penultimate size of the family, a heavier anchoring for places where the joint should be noticeable at first glance.

Here we are already in the upper part of the range offered. Above this figure one larger size is left in the family, twelve tenths. The difference between them is again one tenth, but in this band it shows differently than at the bottom: both heads are large enough for the viewer really to perceive them on the model, and they are therefore measured against the surrounding shapes rather than against each other.
The comparison with the larger neighbor does not run, then, as if it were invisible. It runs rather as a matter of surroundings. On a slim frame the twelve will look coarse while the eleven still fits; on a massive engine block it is the other way round and the lower choice is lost among the highlights. It therefore pays to choose by the surface the head will seat on, not by a table.
The larger pieces hold better, so seating them tends to be quicker than with the small sizes. One trap remains: the larger the ring under the head, the sooner it runs into a neighboring edge or a curved surface. Measure the free space around the planned place, therefore, before you reach for the glue, and in tight corners rather drop a rung. A light sanding of the underside also helps, as it lowers the overall height and frees up a few hundredths of a millimeter.
