A gray from the Real Colors line of the AK Interactive brand in a package of 17 ml. Its name ties it to carbon fiber composite, a material that on real machines has no paint color but a dark gray tone with the fine pattern of the weave. The shade therefore aims at surfaces where you do not want a pure black, because black looks flat on a model and takes the shape out of a part.
On parts that should look like carbon: the shells and rear wings of racing cars, brackets, covers and small stiffeners. It also often serves as the underlying surface beneath decals with a carbon weave pattern, because it holds the overall tone under them even where the decal does not reach. It is useful outside the racing theme too, wherever you need a darker neutral gray.
Stir the contents of the bottle properly; settled pigment shows up as uneven coverage. Apply it in thin coats onto a washed and degreased surface and let the paint become tacky between coats. On a smooth surface the structure you later add with a decal or with shading comes out well, so it pays to sand the base beforehand. Apply masks before spraying and take them off only once the paint has dried. The recommended thinner, the thinning ratio and the cleaning of the tools are given by the manufacturer.
For the modeler who builds modern racing machines or any model with composite parts and wants shades from a single line. The package contains only the paint, 17 ml of it; the thinner, the primer, decals and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
