Chibi-maru Ship Nagato Special Version from Fujimi is a special release of the cute shortened kit of the Japanese battleship Nagato, completed according to the name with effect parts. This is not a scale model — the proportions are deliberately comic and distorted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The battleship Nagato is one of the best known ships of the Imperial Japanese Navy, and in the Chibi-Maru line from Fujimi you can build her in a cute shortened form over a few evenings. According to the name the special release also holds effect parts to liven the finished model up. The kit is in no scale — it is a deliberately distorted, comic version of the ship with small dimensions.
Nagato was the first ship of the class of the same name and on completion in 1920 was among the first battleships in the world with a main armament of 41 cm. For many years she served as the flagship of the Combined Fleet of the Imperial Japanese Navy and was the only Japanese battleship to survive the Second World War afloat.
The build is undemanding — separate the parts with nippers and dry-fit them before gluing. Paint the hull naval gray, set the decks apart with a lighter shade and bring out the turret detail with a fine wash. Fit the effect parts only at the end, once the paint has dried.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
