Techmod Clear decal - clear decal film, 2 sheets of 260x180 mm

The package holds two sheets of clear, varnished decal film measuring 260x180 mm from the Polish manufacturer Techmod. It is not finished markings and not a kit: it is a modeling material on which you print your own decals, or out of which you cut a clear patch to repair a damaged sheet.

Use

• printing your own national insignia, numbers, lettering and sponsor logos
• making markings for types for which no finished decals are produced
• rescuing old, yellowed or cracked decals by clear-coating them and transferring them onto new film
• clear instrument panels, dials and small details for a diorama

How to work with the film

The film is meant for laser printing. Because it is transparent, a printed area behaves as on ordinary decals: light colors do not cover on a dark base, so white and light shades are handled with a white backing sheet or a light coat under the decal. After printing, let the area rest, fix it with a thin layer of clear spray varnish in several light passes and let it dry completely. Then cut the motif out as close as possible, immerse it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and slide it onto the dry gloss coat of the model. Draw the surplus water off and finally give the model a matte or semi-gloss coat.

Who the film is for

For modelers who make their own markings, build unusual machines or need to repair a damaged decal sheet. The film is not tied to one scale: you decide the size of the motif when printing, so you will use it in 1:72 just as in 1:32.

This is a modeling material, not a model. A printer, paints and varnish are not included in the package.
