A modeling compound in an ocher shade, a 500 g package. It belongs among the formable compounds for building terrain, that is among the materials from which the surface of a scene is created in the first place. The compound carries the shade within itself, so even a spot that is left unpainted or gets scraped later holds an earthy tone and does not glare into a scene in a foreign color.
Ocher is the color of dry soil, a dusty road and dug-over subsoil. It therefore suits field and forest tracks, road shoulders, the edges of excavations, earth slopes and the transition between a flat base and a model, so that a vehicle or a building does not stand on a scene as if stuck on. It will serve just as well for filling the joints between terrain boards and for sinking a road into the surrounding terrain.
Apply the compound to a firm, clean surface in smaller doses and shape it with a spatula, an old knife or your fingers. Do not leave the surface smooth: you will create a texture with the impression of a coarse brush, a scrubbing brush, a piece of cloth or the model itself, if you want to rut a track for it. Stones, sand, scatter and static grass can be pressed into freshly applied compound and they bond with the terrain straight away. The exact working procedure and the setting time are stated by the manufacturer on the packaging; follow them.
For builders of dioramas and scenes who want their terrain modeled their own way rather than put together from ready-made parts. The paints, the glue, scatter and a base for a diorama are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
