Stone Wall H0/TT 29 x 43 cm

What it is

A stone wall from the Heki company with a raised relief of quarry stone masonry, intended for sizes H0 and TT, that is for the scales 1:87 and 1:120. The area measures 29 x 43 cm, which is roughly twelve hundred square centimeters of material. The format is not a long strip but a rectangle, so you can cut either one tall part from it or several lower strips, depending on what the scene needs.

Field of use

Quarry stone masonry appears in a scene everywhere a slope had to be held back or a building founded: at the retaining walls along a line, at the wing walls of tunnel portals, at the base courses of buildings, at banks, at ramps and at boundary walls. It is precisely the rectangular format that is an advantage with taller walls, where a long narrow strip would have to be made up in two rows and the seam would show.

Painting and installation

• Lay the scene out dry and only then cut the area up into parts.
• Make the cut along the joints between the stones, not across a stone.
• Level the base and remove the dust, otherwise the wall will stand off at the edges.
• Glue with an adhesive suitable both for the material of the part and for the base on which you are building the scene.
• Quarry stone masonry suits a dark glaze in the joints, a dry brush along the edges and several stones toned differently, so that the area does not look uniform.
• Darken the lower part of the wall and add self-sown greenery; the crown will take a lighter dusting.
