The Javelin FGM-148 is an American portable anti-tank missile system which the operator fires from the shoulder. The missile guides itself onto the thermal image of the target, so after firing the gunner can move into cover. Characteristic features are the top attack, aimed at the weaker upper armor of a vehicle, and the so-called soft launch, in which the main motor ignites only after the missile has left the launch tube. It is thanks to that that it can be fired even from an enclosed space. The silhouette of an operator with the launch tube and the angular sighting unit is among the images of 2022.
The package contains a figure of a Ukrainian soldier in 1:35 scale in an unpainted version. Before building it pays to assemble the parts dry and to try how the figure holds on its base.
It is advisable to paint the launch system separately from the figure, while there is free access to it, and to join them only at the end. The uniform is easier built from a lighter base with the patches painted in with a thin brush, and the whole evened out with a final glaze. The straps and buckles come out after a light dry brush. A figure with the launch system on the shoulder is best seated so that the space behind the tube stays clear.
The figure suits modern dioramas and models of armored equipment in 1:35 scale. The package contains only the figure. The model, paints, glue and a base are not part of it, unless stated otherwise.
