An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Bristol 175 Britannia turboprop airliner in 1:144 scale from Roden, in the version with African Safari airline decals. The model captures the elegant shape of the four-engine aircraft with its long fuselage. The kit is supplied as a set of plastic parts to be glued and painted.
The Bristol Britannia was a British four-engine turboprop airliner for medium and long routes, dating from the 1950s. For the quiet running of its engines it earned the nickname Whispering Giant. It came about at a time when turboprop aircraft on long-haul routes were soon replaced by the arriving jets, yet it remained popular with charter and cargo operators all over the world.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the fuselage seams carefully so that they disappear. The smooth surfaces of an airliner call for an even gloss base, on which the decals settle better. Spraying with an airbrush and a gloss varnish compatible with the paint used under the decals is ideal.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
