This injection-molded plastic kit in the small 1:144 scale from Academy presents the Grumman E-2C Hawkeye carrier-borne early warning aircraft in the colors of the VAW-113 Black Eagles unit of the US Navy. Thanks to its dimensions the small model with the typical rotating saucer radome above the fuselage is ideal for a shelf and for a collection of carrier-borne aircraft.
The Grumman E-2C Hawkeye is a carrier-borne airborne early warning and control aircraft, which serves as the airborne eyes and ears of a carrier battle group. From high altitude it watches the airspace, gives timely warning of threats and directs fighter aircraft. Its characteristic feature is the large rotating radome carrying the surveillance radar.
In the small 1:144 scale, take care over clean joints and the fine cleaning up of the small parts. Apply liquid cement sparingly. A primer and light gray shades suit the naval scheme; the decals will stand out on a smooth gloss surface. Finish the propellers and the radome at the end of the build.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
