1:32 600 gallon centerline fuel tank for A-10 Thunderbolt II is an accessory covering the large external tank for the centerline pylon of the ground-attack aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
The bulky drop tank of six hundred gallons belongs to the external load that the American ground-attack aircraft carried above all on long-distance transits. On a model in 1:32 it is a prominent body that changes the whole silhouette of the aircraft underneath the fuselage and is worth careful work.
The Fairchild A-10 Thunderbolt II was created as a specialized aircraft for the direct support of ground troops. It was built on toughness, long endurance over the battlefield and a massive gun in the nose. Its internal fuel supply was enough for combat tasks over its own area, but for moves between bases across continents the crews reached for exactly these large external tanks.
Try the seating face against the pylon dry first and level it, so that the tank hangs parallel to the axis of the fuselage. The gray shades used on these aircraft need an even base, otherwise differences in the absorbency of the surface will show through. Once dry, pick out the panel lines and add traces of service around the attachment points.
It is separately sold equipment for models, not an aircraft kit.
