Two bombs of the 1000 pound class in 1:32, designated AN-M65 as well as AN-M59. A printed accessory from ResKit for heavy bombers and early jet aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
Two bomb bodies in the thousand-pound weight class cover two designations at once. The AN-M65 was the general-purpose high-explosive variant with a heavy filling, while the AN-M59 carried the same external shape but a semi-armor-piercing construction. That is exactly why a single mold suffices for both versions and the builder chooses according to the target he wants to assign to his aircraft. Both bodies are printed separately and carry suggested suspension bands as well.
Thousand-pound bombs were among the heaviest loads four-engine aircraft could carry in numbers, and their targets were bridges, factories, submarine pens and railway stations. They were carried by four-engine bombers, later also by larger jet aircraft of the early 1950s and by British aircraft armed from American stocks. Crews reached for weapons of such a heavy class above all where a single hit was to decide the outcome of a whole raid.
The printed parts carry rivet lines and the shaped transitions of the casing, which coarse sanding would easily lose. Work outward from the supports and use a fine grit. A metallic shade under a matte coat gives the bomb a period look better than a single even spray. A thin gloss coat before applying the markings helps.
You are buying two bombs, not an aircraft. The package contains no tools, paints or kit.
