This is an injection-molded plastic kit of the F-16 Fighting Falcon fighter in the large 1:32 scale from Revell. The release is conceived as an anniversary edition marking 50 years of the type and contains special decals. In the box you will find a detailed cockpit with an instrument panel and an ejection seat, optionally retractable landing gear, a finely detailed surface and external stores — pylons, Sidewinder and Sparrow missiles and an external fuel tank. It is a fairly extensive model aimed rather at more experienced modelers.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a lightweight multirole fighter that first flew in the 1970s and became one of the commercially most successful jet fighters in history. It drew attention with an aerodynamically bold concept, its excellent agility earned it the nickname Viper, and it serves in many air forces to this day. The combination of maneuverability, modern avionics and a wide range of weaponry made it the backbone of a number of air arms.
Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. The large 1:32 scale reveals every detail, so it pays to shade the cockpit carefully and to mask the glazing before painting. Paint the external stores and the tank separately and fit them only after varnishing. Run a gloss coat over the surface before the decals, and at the end unify the surface with a matte or satin varnish. Gently airbrush-shaded panels stand out well on gray camouflage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
