This is a supplementary detail set, not a model. It contains 3D-printed resin wheels for the American carrier fighter Grumman F4F/FM-2 Wildcat in 1:32 scale, in the type 1 form. The tires are rendered with a flattening where they meet the ground, which imitates the load on a standing aircraft.
The wheels are among the most conspicuous details of the landing gear. A 3D-printed replacement offers a crisp tread pattern, a fine relief of the rim and a realistic stance on the ground, which plastic wheels out of a mold usually do not have.
Separate the wheels from the print supports carefully, clean up the mating surfaces and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Apply a primer before painting; the tire and the rim are painted separately and the rim can be masked. See to it that the flattening is oriented correctly, toward the ground.
The detail set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
