This injection-molded plastic kit from Trumpeter depicts the early American carrier dive bomber SBD-1/2 Dauntless in the large 1:32 scale. The package contains parts in gray and clear plastic, photo-etched components, rubber tires and decals; the model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The Douglas SBD Dauntless was a two-seat carrier dive bomber of the US Navy and the Marine Corps. The SBD-1 and SBD-2 variants were prewar and early wartime builds with their characteristic perforated dive brakes. The type became famous above all in the Pacific fighting at the start of the Second World War.
Build and paint the roomy cockpit and the interior before the fuselage is closed; photo-etched belts will raise the realism. Bond the photo-etched parts with super glue and the plastic with thin modeling cement. Apply a primer before painting and spray the surfaces with an airbrush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
