An injection-molded plastic kit of the German 2.8 cm sPzB 41 heavy anti-tank weapon in 1:35 scale from Bronco. This version represents the weapon on the larger carriage with solid steel wheels and a transport trolley. It is a multi-option set from which several configurations can be built, completed by photo-etched parts.
The 2.8 cm schwere Panzerbuechse 41 was an unusual German anti-tank weapon that used the squeeze-bore principle: the caliber of the projectile shrank from 28 mm to 20 mm as it passed down the barrel. That gave the gun a high muzzle velocity and, at short range, remarkable penetrating power for its low weight. The drawback was the tungsten consumed by the cores of the projectiles, and the shortage of that metal eventually ended production. The weapon was fielded by airborne and infantry units alike.
Work in subassemblies and use liquid cement for plastic; glue the small photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting and spray the colors with an airbrush. The thin parts of the carriage and the gun shield need their mold seams cleaned up carefully. Build the weathering with dark washes in the recesses and dust pigments on the wheels and the lower part of the carriage.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
