The model captures the massive enclosed superstructure on the chassis of the Tiger I tank with its dominant 380 mm rocket mortar. Check the exact package contents, the marking options and the accessories against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Sturmtiger came about by rebuilding the chassis of the Tiger I heavy tank. In place of the turret it received a sturdy armored superstructure with the huge 38 cm RW61 (Raketenwerfer 61) rocket mortar of 380 mm caliber. It had originally been a naval anti-submarine weapon; here it served to destroy fortifications and built-up areas with heavy rocket projectiles. The weapon had a short range but enormous destructive power. Only a few dozen vehicles were built and they were fielded in 1944, among other places in putting down the Warsaw Uprising and on the Western Front.
Assemble and paint the running gear with its interleaved road wheels and the interior fittings before you close the hull. Give attention to the dominant mortar barrel with the characteristic holes in its jacket. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. After spraying the late-war camouflage, bring out the panel lines and the rivets with a wash and add coarser mud and dust effects with pigments on the running gear and the lower part of the superstructure.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
