A decal sheet for a model of the Fieseler Fi 156 Storch aircraft in 1:48 scale, tied thematically to night ground-attack service (Nachtschlacht).
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fieseler Fi 156 Storch is a German liaison and observation aircraft with legendary qualities on a short strip. A high wing with lowering flaps and a slat along the whole leading edge allowed it to take off and land in a few tens of meters, so a meadow or a road was enough for it. The long travel of the landing gear legs absorbed rough ground, and the extensively glazed cabin, bulged out beyond the outline of the fuselage, gave the crew a view vertically downward. It was used for liaison flights, for directing artillery fire, for carrying the wounded and for transporting staff officers.
The sheet is drawn for 1:48 scale and carries the markings of machines connected with night ground-attack service, to which the German word Nachtschlacht in the name refers. Which particular machines and which national insignia the sheet contains are given in the enclosed instructions. A supplementary sheet comes in useful where you want to build a machine that is not in the basic kit.
With ordinary sheets the wet method is followed. Before you soak the sheet, check in the instructions whether it is not a self-adhesive version, because a soaked self-adhesive film is ruined. With a waterslide decal, first finish the area to a gloss and let it dry, cut the piece out, soak it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest. Then slide it off the paper into place, draw the water off and on an intricate surface help it along with a softener. Finally go over the whole with varnish.
The model, paints, varnish and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
