An injection-molded plastic kit of the American command car Dodge WC-56/57 Command Car in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The model lets you build the command and the liaison variant of the three-quarter-ton Dodge; according to the manufacturer the box offers decals for several historical markings.
The Dodge WC family in the three-quarter-ton class was among the most massively produced American vehicles of the Second World War. The WC-56 version was meant for commanders and liaison duties, while the WC-57 differs from it by the winch added at the front. The open body with its low sides gave the crew a good view and quick access; the cars served with a number of Allied armies in the European and Mediterranean theaters.
As with any military vehicle, first assemble and paint the chassis, the engine and the running gear, and only then finish the open body and the interior. Use thin cement for plastic and lay down a primer before painting. Apply the base olive shade with an airbrush; fidelity comes from bringing out the panels with a wash and from fine dust and mud deposits in pigments on the chassis and the tires. An open body rewards a carefully painted interior.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
