An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M32B1 recovery vehicle in 1:35 scale from Asuka. This is not a classic battle tank — the M32B1 is a specialized armored recovery vehicle on the Sherman chassis (the M4A1 variant), intended for towing and repairing damaged equipment in the field. The kit offers a movable main boom (crane), a winch, a range of recovery equipment, interior and external stowage details and markings for two US Army vehicles.
Armored recovery vehicles appeared during the Second World War and were built on the chassis of existing tanks — the main turret with its armament was removed and specific equipment was fitted for recovering, towing and repairing damaged armor directly on the battlefield. The M32B1 was based on the hull of the M4A1 Sherman and, thanks to its boom, its winch and its built-in mortar, it was one of the mainstays of engineer and repair units.
Assemble and glue the running gear and the interior details before you close the hull. The movable boom can be built raised or lowered — decide whether you want to fix it permanently. Glue the plastic with thin cement, paint over a primer with an airbrush and use washes and pigments for mud, dust and traces of service wear, of which working vehicles usually had more than battle tanks.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
