This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale captures the German jet bomber and reconnaissance aircraft Arado Ar 234 B-2 Blitz in the finish of the last months of the Second World War. The End of War edition from Hobby 2000 is a rebox – it uses a proven injection mold and adds good decals and masks for easier painting of the transparencies. The exact parts and scheme counts are on the manufacturer's packaging.
The Arado Ar 234 Blitz was the first operationally used jet bomber in the world. It was powered by a pair of Junkers Jumo 004 turbojets and the B-2 version served as a fast bomber and as a reconnaissance machine. Its high speed made it hard for contemporary Allied fighters to intercept. It was used at the end of the war, among other things on raids against bridges and on reconnaissance flights over the front.
Separate the parts from the sprues with a cutter and glue the joints with liquid modeling cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting, which evens out the surface and shows up small shortcomings. Protect the cockpit and glazing with the masks supplied and apply the paint ideally with an airbrush in thin coats. The typical end-of-war finish offers scope for mottling and subtle weathering.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
