An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Pz.Kpfw. VI Tiger I heavy tank in its Hybrid version, in 1:35 scale from Italeri. The designation Hybrid refers to the transitional machines that combined features of early and middle production, typically an older hull with newer components. The package offers decals for several marking variants.
The Tiger I was a German heavy tank committed from 1942. It stood out for its heavy frontal armor, its massive turret and its eighty-eight-millimeter gun derived from an anti-aircraft gun, which made it a feared opponent at long range. The machine changed step by step during production; transitional examples therefore carry a mixture of features of the early and middle series, for example the older type of hull with newer road wheels or a newer commander's cupola.
As with any armored vehicle, first assemble the running gear and the tracks carefully and finish the detail of the hull, and only then close the superstructure and fit the turret. Use thin cement for plastic and apply primer before finishing. Lay the base shade on with an airbrush and work the camouflage in layers. For a faithful look, emphasis of the rivets and the panels with a wash, dust and mud deposits in pigment on the running gear and discreet scuffing of the edges with dry-brushing have proved themselves.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
