A resin, 3D-printed kit of the US Navy A/S32A-49 deck (aircraft) tractor in the short variant, in 1:35 scale from Reskit. It is not a model of an aircraft but the tractor used on the decks of aircraft carriers to move aircraft and helicopters. Thanks to 3D printing it carries fine detail; it is a resin kit intended for more experienced modelers as an addition to aircraft models and flight deck dioramas.
Deck tractors of the A/S32A range serve the US Navy for handling aircraft on the cramped decks of aircraft carriers as well as at land bases. The low, massive tractor can push or tow heavy machines such as F/A-18 fighters, F-35 aircraft or the E-2 Hawkeye. The short version differs from the longer form in its wheelbase and its layout and suits lively aviation scenes.
First wash the parts to remove uncured resin, so that the primer and the paint hold. Cut the print supports off carefully and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. Bond resin with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer, paint with an airbrush and bring the detail out with a wash; deck equipment tends to be heavily worn, so oil stains, scuffs and dust pigments work well.
This is a resin (3D-printed) kit for experienced modelers. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and an aircraft model are not included in the package.
