Reskit 1:72 FB-111 Cockpit early modification with 3D decals is a resin cockpit set with three-dimensional decals for a model of the FB-111 bomber version in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set combines a resin cockpit with three-dimensional decals that give the instrument panels raised depth and color. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory for a plastic kit. The interior is clearly visible under the glazing even in 1:72 scale, so the difference against bare plastic parts shows on the finished model. The set matches the early form of the cockpit, which matters, because the equipment of these machines changed step by step during their service.
The FB-111 is the strategic bomber version of the General Dynamics F-111. It differs from the tactical forms in its longer wing and in being adapted to carry a heavy load over a long distance. The crew consists of two men seated side by side in the wide forward section, and the aircraft benefits from a variable-geometry wing that lets it manage both a slow takeoff with a heavy load and a fast run at low altitude. In service it served as a complement to the heavy bombers of American strategic aviation.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm water with detergent, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and true up the surfaces with sandpaper. Apply the three-dimensional decals to a smooth surface treated with a primer, blot the excess water and press the decal down with a soft brush so that it settles into the recesses as well. Finish and paint the whole cockpit before you close the fuselage halves. Protect your airways when sanding resin.
