The Flyhawk detail set for the battleship Kongo 1944 1:350 is a well worked-out set of parts for improving the plastic model, not a model in its own right. Target kit: Aoshima.
Responsibility details are not available.
A well worked-out detail, or upgrade, set from Flyhawk for improving a plastic model of the Japanese battleship Kongo as she was in 1944, in 1:350 scale. It is NOT a model of a ship but a set of accessory parts that replace the thick plastic parts with finer photo-etched and other pieces. The set is meant for a particular plastic kit of this ship and cannot be built on its own without it. The etched fret is cut for the Aoshima kit.
The Kongo was a fast battleship, originally a battlecruiser, of the Imperial Japanese Navy. She went through extensive modernizations and in the Second World War she served as a fast battle unit. Her 1944 configuration matches the late appearance with generous anti-aircraft armament and radars.
For advanced ship modelers who want to get the maximum of detail out of a base kit. Working with fine photo-etched parts calls for experience and patience.
This is a detail set, an accessory, not a model. It does not hold a plastic model of the ship, glue or paints.
