This set from Flyhawk is not a model of the ship but a detail (upgrade) set meant to improve a plastic kit of the battleship USS Alabama in 1:350 scale. It holds photo-etched parts that replace or supplement the coarser plastic sections and markedly lift the realism of the finished model.
USS Alabama (BB-60) was an American fast battleship of the South Dakota class, deployed during the Second World War in the Atlantic as well as the Pacific. She carried main guns of 406 mm caliber and heavy anti-aircraft armament. Today she is a museum ship.
Cut the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a cutting surface, bend them with a photo-etch bender or a ruler, and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). We recommend an experienced hand and good lighting.
This is a supplementary set. The ship model itself, glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
