A set of four resin CBU-89A GATOR cluster bombs in 1:48 for models of American combat aircraft and bombers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package from the brand Reskit contains four castings of the American CBU-89 GATOR mine dispenser. This is underwing armament that you hang under a wing or place in the bomb bay of a model under construction; the carrier itself you choose according to what you are building.
The weapon does not belong among classic fragmentation dispensers. The container opens in flight and scatters a mixture of anti-tank and anti-personnel mines over the ground, so a single pass closes off a road or a bridgehead before the enemy can move there. The ordnance entered service in the mid-1980s and made its name during the fighting in the Persian Gulf, where it was carried by attack aircraft and by heavy bombers alike. Until the end of the century the dispenser was part of the ordinary stock of American ammunition depots in Europe and in Asia.
Separate the castings from the casting blocks with a cut from a fine saw; nippers could break the hard resin. Level the cut surface with a file, rinse the parts in lukewarm water with a little detergent and let them dry properly. Use cyanoacrylate glue for joining, because ordinary plastic cement will not work here. A thin coat of filler primer makes a good base under the paint, since on bare resin the shade would look uneven.
The package contains the ordnance alone, and there is no glue or paint in it.
