A set of rib tapes for the rudder, elevators and ailerons of the Il-2 attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. Intended for kits regardless of the maker.

The Ilyushin Il-2 had fabric-covered control surfaces, the fabric being attached to the ribs and taped over them with narrow strips. On the real machine these tapes are clearly visible as regular transverse stripes on the rudder, the elevators and the ailerons. The set imitates them in 1:48 scale and gives the surface of the control surfaces a character that molded plastic does not have on its own. Imitating them by hand with thin strips tends to be tedious and rarely comes out evenly along the whole length.
The elements are carried on a backing sheet and are taken off it one at a time. By its name the set is intended for Il-2 kits in general, not for one particular maker, so compare the spacing of the tapes with the spacing of the ribs on your model before applying them.
The way the elements are applied differs between the maker's lines, so follow the enclosed instructions. They also say how to separate the elements from the backing sheet and how to settle them onto the surface.
The package contains only the elements listed. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
