Quinta Studio 1:48 Ilyushin Il-4 - vacuum-formed clear canopy

It is not a model but a detail accessory: a vacuum-formed (molded) clear canopy for models of the Ilyushin Il-4 bomber in 1:48 scale. The part is markedly thinner and clearer than the injection-molded canopy from the box, so the interior shows better and the glazing looks more realistic. Its shape matches the given subject in this scale.

Use

• Cut the canopy carefully out of the backing film with a sharp knife and leave a small margin for gluing.
• For maximum clarity the part can be dipped in gloss varnish and left to dry.
• Glue it with PVA (white) glue or with a special canopy glue, which will not cloud the clear plastic.
• The thin wall makes it possible to show the canopy in the open position.

Who the part is for

For modelers who want to replace the coarser canopy from the box on an Il-4 with a thin, clear part and show the interior better. Working with a vacuum-formed part calls for a little experience and care.
