This product is a turned metal gun barrel of the American 90 mm M3 gun with a thread protector, intended for a model of the M36B1 tank destroyer in 1:35 scale. It is not a kit of the vehicle but a metal detail accessory. The version with a thread protector matches a barrel with no muzzle brake. Turned metal faithfully captures the slender profile of the barrel and the seam line typical of plastic is gone.
The M36B1 was an American tank destroyer of the end of the Second World War, which combined the hull of the M4 Sherman tank with a turret carrying the powerful 90 mm M3 gun. This weapon was able to fight even the heavy German tanks effectively. The variant with a thread protector was used where no muzzle brake was fitted.
The barrel is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). We recommend separating the plastic barrel at the mantlet and setting the metal part in on the axis of the turret. Metal takes a primer and the final coat easily and holds a sharp outline at the muzzle.
This is a metal detail accessory, not a stand-alone model. The base kit of the vehicle is not included in the package.
