Reskit Lockheed C-130 Hercules wheels set late type 1:48 is a resin set of replacement landing gear wheels in the late version. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An accessory set from Reskit that replaces the landing gear wheels of the Lockheed C-130 Hercules transport model in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a detailing replacement part. The name marks it as the late type; an early-type set exists in the same product line, because the wheels and hubs differed between the individual Hercules series. Choose according to the version of the aircraft you are building.
The C-130 Hercules is a high-wing turboprop with a rear cargo ramp and a nose landing gear; the main landing gear retracts into fairings on the sides of the fuselage and is set up for operations from unpaved surfaces as well. The main wheels are therefore large and arranged in tandem one behind the other. Since the gear fairings stay open when the aircraft is on the ground, this area is one of the most closely watched parts of the model.
First wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap to remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw where the wheel meets the ground and sand the area gently wet. Apply a thin primer before painting. A proven method is to spray the whole wheel in the tire shade, mask it with a circular mask and then spray the hub. Never paint the tire in pure black: use a dark gray shade and lighten the surface with a pigment or a dry brush. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue only.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
