This item is not a model of an aircraft but an accurate resin (3D-printed) replacement for the wheels of plastic P-38 Lightning models in 1:48 scale. The Type 1 designation distinguishes a particular tire pattern — choose according to the tread that matches your subject. It replaces the factory wheels with more faithfully shaped tires and detailed hubs.
The tires have a loaded, slightly flattened contact patch imitating the weight of the aircraft and finely rendered tread patterns and sidewall lettering. The wheel hubs carry sharp details.
Wash the parts free of residues of mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and glue them with cyanoacrylate. Protect your airways while sanding and apply a primer before painting.
This is an accessory for a build, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
