A color display board for a model with the deck motif of the American ship LPH-6 Thetis Bay, an acrylic sheet 3 mm thick measuring 410 x 270 mm and weighing 410 g.
Responsibility details are not available.
Thetis Bay was an American escort carrier that the Navy converted into a helicopter carrier and listed under the hull designation LPH-6. It was from the decks of ships of this type that assault from the air developed, so a scene with a helicopter standing on deck is a rewarding subject.
This is a color display board for a model with a ship deck motif. The load-bearing part is an acrylic sheet 3 mm thick measuring 410 x 270 mm, that is 41 x 27 cm, weighing 410 g. The sheet is rigid enough not to sag under a model, and thanks to its weight it stays put on a shelf. The model is simply stood on it; there is no need to glue it down or modify it in any way.
If the sheet is protected by a film, take it off only just before you display it, so that the surface does not get scratched. Wipe fingerprints and dust away with a soft dry cloth; aggressive cleaners and thinners do not belong on acrylic, they dull it and can damage the motif. Stand the model so that its footprint matches the artwork on the board, and if you want to secure it, use double-sided adhesive pads, which lift off without a trace.
The display board suits the presentation of a finished model on a shelf, in a display case and at a competition, where it gives the scene a piece of its setting without building a whole diorama. The package contains the display board only; the model, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
