A resin detail set from Reskit made for models of the McDonnell F-15E Strike Eagle in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit of the aircraft but a pair of faithful exhaust nozzles in the drawn-in (closed) position, matching the aircraft in flight at lower thrust. The set replaces the simplified parts of the base model with finely cast petals for both engines.
The rear nozzles are a very prominent feature on the twin-engine Eagle. A resin replacement with thin edges and faithful geometry raises the realism of the rear end of a model. The closed position suits in-flight configurations on a stand.
Wash the parts to remove the mold release agent, cut the casting blocks off and sand them with breathing protection. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Painting in metallic and heat-discolored shades with the petals brought out by a wash and pigments is recommended.
