Responsibility details are not available.
This is NOT an airplane model but a set of cut self-adhesive masks from New Ware in 1:48 scale. The masks are cut from kabuki tape (Japanese washi paper with an adhesive layer) and serve for accurate masking while a plastic kit of the MiG-23MLD Flogger-K fighter is being painted. The parts are pre-cut to suit a particular model, so cutting the frames with a knife is no longer needed.
The MiG-23MLD (NATO reporting name Flogger-K) was the most advanced fighter version of the variable-geometry MiG-23 family. It received improved avionics, modified controls for safer maneuvering at high angles of attack and the characteristic notches on the leading edge of the wing roots, which improved the airflow. It was also armed with modern short-range missiles.
The ADVANCED level offers more elaborate masking of the glazed cockpit than the basic set - usually in three layers: the inner side of the glazing, the color of the frame edging (the seals) and the outer outline. Masks for the wheel hubs tend to be included as well. It does not reach the extent of the EXPERT variant (there are no separate masks for the lights), but it speeds up the painting of the cockpit markedly and makes it more accurate. The masks are stuck onto the clear parts so that they follow the curvature, and after airbrush spraying they are removed gently with no adhesive residue.
A supplementary masking set, not a model on its own. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
