This set contains replacement main landing gear wheels for models of the Curtiss P-40N Warhawk fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane kit but a detail accessory that replaces the wheels from the original kit. The parts are produced by modern 3D printing with a sharp surface and a faithful diamond tread pattern on the tire. A set of painting masks for a clean finish on the hubs is usually included as well.
Cast or printed wheels have a finer relief than injected plastic and capture the structure of the tire and the detail of the hub better. The diamond tread corresponds to one of the tire types commonly used on the P-40N, so you can bring the model closer to a particular machine according to photographic documentation.
First wash the parts to remove uncured print resin residue, carefully separate the print supports and sand the surfaces with respiratory protection. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Mask the hubs with the masks supplied, unify the tire with a matte dark gray and add a fine hint of dust with pigments.
This is an accessory set, not a complete model. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package.
