This is a detail accessory set, not an aircraft model. It contains a precisely rendered Pratt and Whitney R-2800 Double Wasp radial engine in 1:48 scale, on which even fine features such as the ignition harness and the pipework are reproduced using 3D printing and resin. The engine is meant to be fitted into American aircraft that used this powerplant.
The Pratt and Whitney R-2800 was an American air-cooled eighteen-cylinder two-row radial engine. It powered a number of famous machines of the Second World War and of postwar equipment and was renowned for its reliability and high output.
Wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, separate them carefully from the supports and casting blocks and wear respiratory protection while sanding. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). The engine comes into its own once metal shades are applied, with a dark wash into the recesses and dry highlighting of the edges.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the basic kit are not included in the package.
