A plastic kit of the turboprop trainer Pilatus PC-7 in 1:48 scale from Kovozavody Prostejov. The parts are on sprues and the model is supplied unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Pilatus PC-7 is one of the most widespread turboprop trainers of all. The Swiss design combines undemanding operation with performance that allows aerobatics and the basics of combat flying to be practiced, which is why the type found its way into air forces on several continents. Instructor and student sit one behind the other under a long glazed canopy with a good view, which makes the aircraft a rewarding subject for varied training color schemes.
This is an injection-molded plastic kit in 1:48 scale. The plastic parts are waiting on sprues, and a clear part for the canopy and a decal sheet are added. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted, so obtain paints, glue and putty separately. The instructions take you through the build in the usual sequence of steps, from fitting out the cockpit to the landing gear and the small accessories.
Try seating the main assemblies dry first and level the mating surfaces with a file or sandpaper. Paint and fit out the inside of the cockpit before you seat the canopy, and mask the glazing before spraying the outer colors. Fit the landing gear legs and the propeller only after the spraying is finished, so that they are not damaged while handling. With striking training schemes it works well to lay down the lighter shade first and add the deeper stripes over masks afterwards.
The kit will suit modelers who collect trainers or are looking for a colorful companion to a display case full of military aircraft. You will need ordinary modeling tools for the build. Paints, glue and accessory sets are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
