Two R-77-1 air-to-air guided missiles in version 2 with their launchers in 1:48 scale from Quinta Studio. Meant for kits from various manufacturers.
Responsibility details are not available.
The R-77 is a Russian medium-range air-to-air guided missile with active radar guidance, that is a weapon for combat beyond visual range. The family is easy to recognize by the lattice fins at the rear, which differ from ordinary surfaces at first glance. The R-77-1 form is one of the later versions of this family and is carried by modern Russian fighters.
The box contains two missiles including their launchers in 1:48 scale, in the variant designated version 2. The lattice fins are exactly the place where a plastic kit runs into its limits, because a fine grid cannot be molded thin enough. The set is meant for kits from various manufacturers; it is fitted onto a pylon and calls for no change to the structure of the model.
Handle the lattice fins carefully, as they break easily. Cut the surplus material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and gently sand the rest down. The parts are not polystyrene; super glue will join them. Before painting, wash and degrease the surface and apply the paint in a thin coat so that the grid is not flooded. The particular procedure follows the manufacturer's instructions.
The set is for a modeler who is building a contemporary Russian fighter and wants external stores that match the real thing. Two pieces are enough for one pair of stores; for a full load it is worth allowing for more packages. A kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
